X-Men Origins : Wolverine is a 2009 superhero film based mostly on the Marvel Comics' fictional personality Wolverine. It's a prequel to the X-Men film trilogy and is basically set approximately about a decade or so before the film X-Men.

The film concentrates on the violent past of the mutant Wolverine and his relationship with his half-brother Victor Creed. It opened at the pinnacle of the ticket office, grossing $85 million domestically on the opening weekend, and has made over $300 million around the world. In 1845 Canada, young James Howlett sees his father wiped out by groundskeeper Thomas Logan. The trauma turns on the boy's mutation: bone claws stick out from James' hands, and he kills Logan. In his dying breath, Logan tells James that he is his real dad.

The 2 survive for more than a century as men in their prime, putting their violent urges and talents to use by fighting in the Yankee Civil War and both World Wars. The couple joins the team, but the group's controversial actions and contempt for human life cause James to leave. Six years on, James - going by the name Logan - living in Canada with his squeeze Kayla Silverfox. Colonel Stryker finds Logan and warns him somebody is slaughtering members of the team.

Stryker offers Logan a method to beat Victor. Logan undergoes an operation to strengthen his skeleton with adamantium, an almost indestructible metal, leading to the creation of the Wolverine claws.

Before the process, Logan asks for new dog tags inscribed with "Wolverine".

Stryker orders Logan's memory to be wiped out, but Logan overhears him and leaves with the help of his Wolverine claws, with previous team member tracking him. Wolverine takes refuge in the barn of an elderly couple who take him in for the night. They explain that Stryker is performing experiments on mutants.

One of them, Gambit, escaped and knows the location of the Island. Victor kills Wraith and takes a sample of his blood.

Wolverine attacks and, with his reinforced strength and Wolverine claws, just about kills him. Gambit interrupts the fight, permitting Victor to flee. After being convinced of Wolverine's truth, Gambit takes him to Stryker's facility on 3 Mile Island. Victor, infuriated, attempts to kill Kayla, but Logan hears her screams and stops him. Logan almost kills Victor with his Wolverine claws but spares him, and agrees to help Kayla free the imprisoned mutants.

Stryker turns on his Weapon XI, a "mutant killer" super-soldier with the capabilities of other mutants. The mutants escape thru the facility's tunnels, guided by a young blinded Scott Summers who is following a voice in his head. The party is greeted by Professor Charles Xavier, who offers them shelter at his college. Kayla, mortally wounded in the escape, comes to a decision to stay.

Wolverine lures Weapon XI to battle on top of one of the plant's cooling towers using his Wolverine electronic battle claws, where Victor arrives and assists his brother. Victor escapes and Wolverine is saved from the falling down tower by Gambit.

Silverfox uses her powers of convincing to order Stryker to stroll away before expiring from her wounds.

Gambit returns, but the brain damage causes Wolverine not to recollect anything.

Gambit and Wolverine run away as the emergency response teams come roaring up to the devastated cooling tower.

The Wolverine electronic battle claws are sheathed until the next instalment in the X Men series of films.
